JOINT STRUCTURE AND H-SHAPED CROSS-SECTION MEMBER
To provide a joint structure capable of efficiently preventing fracture of flange due to crack growth at the open edge of scallop without requiring a reinforcement process.SOLUTION: The joint structure is for joining an H-shaped cross-section beam having a web, a flange, and a connection part between the web and the flange to a pillar. In the joint structure, on the axial end of the H-shaped cross-section beam that is to be joined to the pillar, a scallop is formed by cutting out a part of the web that touches the flange, and a missing part of the web or connection part extending along the flange from or near the opening edge of the scallop is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
