To provide a sound absorption material presenting a favorable sound absorbing characteristic in a wide frequency band including a low frequency band less than or equal to 1000 Hz and a high frequency band exceeding 2000 Hz, a sound absorption method through use of the sound absorption material, a sound insulation method through use of the sound absorption material having a sound insulation property, a sound absorption structure including the sound absorption material, a vehicle including the sound absorption structure, an architectural structure and a vehicle including the sound absorption material, a method of manufacturing the sound absorption material, and a method of manufacturing the sound absorption structure.SOLUTION: A foam having a shear modulus of less than or equal to 7000 Pa, and a flow resistance of more than or equal to 1000000 N s/m4 per unit thickness is used as a sound absorption material.
