To provide a ZrO2-CaO-C-based refractory that possesses conspicuous slaking resistance and can maintain high adhesion resistance over a long term with self-solubility suppressed, i.e. while possessing corrosion resistance.SOLUTION: A CaO-ZrO2 composition contains a CaO component by 40 mass% or more and 60 mass% or less, has a mass ratio of a CaO/ZrO2 component of 0.67 or more and 1.5 or less, contains an eutectic structure of a CaO crystal and a CaZrO3 crystal, and has a width of the CaO crystal to be observed in a sectional structure of 50 μm or less. 【課題】顕著な耐消化性を備え，自溶性を抑制して，すなわち耐食性を備えつつ，高い難付着性を長時間に亘って維持することができるＺｒＯ２−ＣａＯ−Ｃ系の耐火物を提供する。【解決手段】ＣａＯ成分を４０質量％以上６０質量％以下含み，ＣａＯ／ＺｒＯ２成分の質量比が０．６７以上１．５以下であって，ＣａＯ結晶とＣａＺｒＯ３結晶との共晶組織を含み，かつ，断面の組織中で観察できるＣａＯ結晶の幅が５０μｍ以下である，ＣａＯ−ＺｒＯ２組成物，及びこのＣａＯ−ＺｒＯ２組成物を含む耐火物。【選択図】図４
