To provide a reinforcing unit for a hollow columnar object capable of easily reinforcing the strength of the hollow columnar object having an under-bracing and a reinforcing method for the hollow columnar object using the reinforcing unit.SOLUTION: A reinforcing unit (1) for reinforcing a hollow columnar object (P) having an under-bracing (P1) from the inside comprises a reinforcing member (20) deformable into a hollow shape, and a bag member (30) housed in the reinforcing member and expandable by gas supplied to the inside. The reinforcing member includes a cylindrical part (21) and a plurality of leg parts (22, 23) integrally connected to one end of the cylindrical part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
