To provide a method for producing a solid composition whereby, by a heat treatment at a relatively low temperature for a relatively short time, such a solid composition can be properly produced that allows stable formation of a solid electrolyte having desired properties, and a method for producing a solid electrolyte whereby a solid electrolyte having desired properties can be produced properly.SOLUTION: A method for producing a solid composition according to the present disclosure is a method for producing a solid composition to be used for forming a solid electrolyte having a first crystal phase, and includes the steps of producing an oxide constituted by a second crystal phase different from the first crystal phase at normal temperature and normal pressure, and mixing the oxide with an oxo acid compound.SELECTED DRAWING: None
