To provide a mounting pipe detection device and a mounting pipe detection method, that can detect only a mounting pipe by distinguishing between damage or dents and the mounting pipe even if an inner wall of the pipeline is damaged or has dents, or if the inner wall of the pipeline is mixed with the mounting pipes.SOLUTION: The mounting pipe detection device comprises: a predetermined shape detection part that detects a predetermined shape from image data obtained by capturing the inside of a pipeline; a light/dark difference extraction part that extracts shadows in the image data; and a mounting pipe certification part that certifies the predetermined shape as the mounting pipe based on the predetermined shape detected by the predetermined shape detection part and the shadow extracted by the light/dark difference extraction part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
