To provide a joint device for a stairway capable of reducing cost, improving appearance, absorbing swinging motion without breaking even in an earthquake, and easily installing.SOLUTION: A joint device 1 for a stairway comprises: stairs 5 whose lower end side attached to one building frame 3; another building frame 4 provided on a landing 6 on the upper-end side of the stairs via a joint part 2; a first joint plate support part 7 provided on the landing 6; a second joint plate support part 8 provided on the other building frame 4 so as to face the first joint plate support part; a joint plate 9 whose one end part is attached to the first joint plate support part 7 so as to slide back and forth, whose the other end part is supported by the second joint plate support part 8, and which closes the joint part 2; a pair of cover device mounting parts 10, 11 provided on both front and rear side parts of a stair; and a pair of cover devices 12 each having one end side mounted to one cover device mounting part 10 and the other end side mounted to the other cover device mounting part 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
