To provide a crescent and a device for an opening which are capable of detecting locking and unlocking.SOLUTION: A crescent 9 according to the present invention includes a crescent main body 11, a sensor unit 13, and a battery unit 15. The sensor unit 13 is designed for detecting locked and unlocked states of the crescent main body 11 and is attached to either one of upper and lower portions of the crescent main body 11; the battery unit 15 is designed to supply electric power to the sensor unit 13 and is attached to the other of the upper and lower portions of the crescent main body 11; and the battery unit 15 and the sensor unit 13 are connected to each other on their back surface sides by a current carrying substrate 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
