To provide an additive for a soil improvement cement composition that can shorten the kneading time of soil cement.SOLUTION: An additive for a soil improvement cement composition contains: a copolymer (α) having a constitutional unit (a) derived from a sulfonic acid (salt) group-containing monomer (A) and a constitutional unit (b) derived from a carboxylic acid (salt) group-containing monomer (B); and a carbonate and/or bicarbonate.
