To provide a humidity conditioning building material having improved moisture-absorbing/releasing ability and improved humidity conditioning function.SOLUTION: A coated wall material is obtained by mixing activated alumina powder, magnesium oxide powder, magnesium chloride, and water in a predetermined mixing ratio; it is desirable that the blending ratio of the activated alumina powder is 20 to 44 mass%, the blending ratio of the magnesium oxide powder is 8 to 25 mass%, the blending ratio of the magnesium chloride powder is 10 to 35 mass%, and the blending ratio of water is 18 to 31 mass%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
