To prevent erroneous assembling of a frame body and a base constituting a manhole guard.SOLUTION: A manhole guard 1 has: a cylindrical base 2 arranged so as to surround an opening of a manhole; and a first frame body 3 and a second frame body 4 detachably assembled on the base 2. The first frame body 3 and the second frame body 4 have: a plurality of support members 6 extending in a vertical direction; and a handrail member 7 connecting an upper end part of the support members 6 in a horizontal direction. The base 2 is provided with the same total number of first post support members 10 and second support members 14 as the plurality of support members 6 of the first frame body 3 and the second frame body 4. First identification means 13 is provided on a lower end side part of the support member 6 of the first frame body 3 and an upper end side part of the first post support member 10 into which the support member 6 is inserted. Second identification means 15 different from the first identification means 13 is provided on the lower end side part of the support member 6 of the second frame body 4 and the upper end side part of the second post support member 14 into which the support member 6 is inserted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
