To provide a resin-coated long body capable of suppressing peeling and strength reduction of a coating resin near corners of a step portion when a core material having a stepped shape is coated with a resin.SOLUTION: There is provided a resin-coated long body 100 that comprises: a metal core material 10 having step portions 30 formed on an outer surface 11 and a hollow portion 13 formed inside thereof; and a coating resin layer 20 made of a synthetic resin that covers the outer surface 11 including the step portion 30 of the core material 10. The resin-coated long body 100 is configured in that: the step portion 30 includes one side portion 31 and the other side portion 32; the one side portion 31 is connected to an intermediate crosspiece formed toward the opposite outer surface 11; in the other side portion 132, a dovetail groove-shaped first groove portion 133 adjacent to an intermediate crosspiece 40 is formed toward inside of the core material 10; and the step portion 30 includes one side portion 31 and the other portion 32; in the other side portion 32, a dovetail groove-shaped groove portion 33 adjacent to the intermediate crosspiece 40 is formed toward inside of the core material 10; and a part of the synthetic resin is inserted inside the groove portion 33.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
