【課題】作業機械の周辺の物体に関する情報をユーザに向けてより適切に表示することが可能な技術を提供する。【解決手段】本開示の一実施形態に係る周辺監視装置１５０は、距離センサ４５により取得されるショベル１００の周辺状況に関するデータに基づき、ショベル１００の周辺の物体に関する情報をユーザに向けて表示する表示装置５０を備える。そして、表示装置５０は、距離センサ４５により取得されるデータの中にショベル１００の周辺に物体が存在することを表すデータが存在しても、その物体に関する情報を表示しない場合がある。【選択図】図４
