To provide a shading device which is capable of adjusting the gap between a shading member and an opening that is caused by an opening/closing operation without any user's effort, thereby improving the convenience.SOLUTION: A vertical type blind 100 includes a louver 110 that can open/close an opening, a head rail 120 that suspends and supports the louver 110 in an openable/closable manner, a support rail 130 that is provided in the front/rear direction of the opening and suspends and supports the head rail 120 in a movable manner, and a drive unit 140 that drives the head rail 120 so as to be movable along the support rail 130 in conjunction with the opening/closing movement of the louver 110. Such a configuration makes it possible to adjust the gap between a shading member and the opening that is caused by an opening/closing operation of the shading device without user's effort.
