To provide charcoal clay or clay comprising charcoal as a main component, having plasticity and viscosity similar to those of china clay, easy moldability, excellent drying property. excellent strength and water resistance, which is expected to be capable of yielding a pot that is light, tough, and excellent in a heat keeping property and a heat insulating property, and has a new function of cleaning air and water and of suppressing the generation of a fungus, for the purpose of enabling many potters to create various pots.SOLUTION: The charcoal clay having a texture similar to that of china clay, is obtained by mixing charcoal powder and CMC powder to prepare mixed charcoal powder, and kneading the mixed charcoal power with one or both of a vinyl acetate resin emulsion and an ethylene vinyl acetate resin emulsion each functioning as an adhesive and a binder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】炭が主材料の粘土ができれば、陶磁器では得られない、軽くて丈夫で保温性断熱性に優れ、空気や水を浄化し、カビを抑制する新機能を有する器ができ、多くの陶芸家が様々な器を創造することができる。そのための、陶土同様の可塑性と粘性を有し、成型の容易さ、乾燥性、強度、耐水性を有する炭粘土を提供する。【解決手段】粘性と結着の働きをする酢酸ビニル樹脂エマルジョン、エチレン酢酸ビニル樹脂エマルジョンのいずれか又は複数と、炭粉にＣＭＣ粉末を混合した混合炭粉を混錬し、陶土に近似した質感の炭粘土を得る。【選択図】図１
