To provide a method for compacting a soil by a soil compactor having at least one soil compactor, and a soil compactor.SOLUTION: A method includes generating a compaction level as-built model for covering at least a work command region to be compacted, determining a boundary for the work command region, and determining location data in a region where at least one soil compactor moves. Then, a latest moving path to be driven so as to cover the work command region by at least the one soil compactor is generated using compactor operation for compacting soil and a measurement function for measuring a compaction level of the soil during compaction. The soil compactor is driven according to the latest moving path and a location specific as-built compaction level of the soil, and a boundary determined for the work command region is stored in the compaction level as-built model.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
