To improve a landscape by covering upper end faces of counterfort plates and connecting plates of blocks for a retaining wall arranged at a bent portion of a box-shaped retaining wall with a granular filler so as not to be exposed on each step surface, and to enhance the meshing effect of the upper and lower granular fillers.SOLUTION: A block 11 for a retaining wall arranged at a bent portion of a box-shaped retaining wall is configured by including a surface plate 12, a counterfort plate 13, and two connecting plates 14. A lower end surface of the counterfort plate 13 and at least a lower end surface of a rear half of the connecting plate 14 are at the level of half the height of the surface plate 12. An upper end surface of the counterfort plate 13 and an upper end surface of the connecting plate 14 are lower than an upper end surface of the surface plate 12 by 40 to 150 mm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
