To provide a compaction machine that suppresses sudden speed changes and improves operability.SOLUTION: In a compaction machine including: a machine body; a compaction roller (20) rotatably provided on the machine body; a traveling drive device (30) for making the machine body travel; an operating device (40) for operating the traveling drive device; and a controller (70) for outputting command signals of a traveling speed of the machine body to the traveling drive device according to the operation amount of the operating device, a detection device (61) is provided that detects information around the machine body, the controller outputs command signals that reach a first upper-limit traveling speed at an upper-limit operation amount of the operating device to the traveling drive device, and when the information around the machine body meets predetermined conditions, the first upper-limit traveling speed is set to a second upper-limit traveling speed that is lower than the first upper-limit traveling speed and a relation between the operation amount and the traveling speed is set so that the upper-limit operation amount reaches the second upper-limit traveling speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
