MAGNESIA-SPINEL BRICK FOR VACUUM DEGASSING DEVICE, AND VACUUM DEGASSING DEVICE
To provide: a magnesia-spinel brick that has excellent corrosion resistance to slag generated in a vacuum degassing device with high operation frequency for performing oxygen injection and further has excellent thermal impact resistance, magnesia-carbon reaction resistance, and oxidation resistance; and a vacuum degassing device using the same at a lower tank wall.SOLUTION: A magnesia-spinel brick comprises: 1.0 mass% or more and 69.7 mass% or less of spinel; 30.1 mass% or more and 96.0 mass% or less of magnesia; 0.1 mass% or more and 2.0% or less of aluminum and/or an aluminum alloy; and 0.1 mass% or more and 2.0 mass% or less of pitch and/or carbon black. The magnesia-spinel brick is subjected to lining to the lower tank wall side of a vacuum degassing device performing an operation satisfying the following (2): 0.04≤(the average slag index in the tank[-])≤0.30 (2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
