To provide a manhole pump system that has a low load of restoring a pump and that can suppress occurrence of noise more than when using an engine type pump.SOLUTION: A manhole pump system comprises pumps 23a and 23b for sucking and discharging liquid in a storage tank, a power supply passage R1-1 for supplying commercial power, a power supply passage R2-1 for supplying electrical power of a portable type storage battery 61, power supply passages R3-1 and R3-2 for supplying electrical power of a battery in an electric vehicle 65 to a pump, an inverter 311 for converting a characteristic of storage power in matching with commercial power, a V2 L66 for converting a characteristic of electrical power of the battery, a change-over switch 33 that switches power supply passages R1-1, R2-1 and R3-2 and that supplies any of commercial power, storage power and electrical power of the battery in the electric vehicle 65 to the pumps 23a and 23b, and an inverter 312 with a soft start function of suppressing a start current of the pumps 23a and 23b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
