To provide a pile foundation structure and a building which are efficiently resistant to a shear force in a horizontal direction acting on a pile head during earthquakes while suppressing increase in construction cost.SOLUTION: There is provided a pile foundation structure 10 in which a footing foundation part 11 and a foundation pile 20 are joined to each other, wherein the foundation pile 20 includes a long pile 21 provided immediately below a column material C, and a short pile 22 which is provided so as to be separated from the long pile 21 along at least one pile side face 21s of the long pile 21, the footing foundation part 11 is composed of a truncated pyramid or circular truncated cone-shaped footing 13 and a foundation slab 12, and pile heads 21t and 22t of the foundation pile 20 are embedded in the footing 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
