To provide an automatic door device that controls a sliding door based on the detection results of a device such as detection means and that can check with higher accuracy whether the device such as the detection means is working properly.SOLUTION: An automatic door device 10, including a main sensor 18 that detects and outputs a detection signal from a person or object in the vicinity of a sliding door 12, which is controlled to open/close by a control unit 26, and a diagnostic unit 24 that diagnoses the status of the main sensor 18, in which the diagnostic unit 24 sends a request to the main sensor 18 to respond to the calculation, and the main sensor 18 sends the results of the calculation to the diagnostic unit 24 in response to the response request for the calculation received from the diagnostic unit 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
