To provide a novel centrifugal brake which is short and constant in the axial length, and can adjust the magnitude of a braking torque step by step while reducing the manufacturing costs.SOLUTION: A rotating body 6 is combined with an adjustment member 50 which is engaged in the circumferential direction by engaging means (an engagement recess 30 and an engagement projection 66) and rotates integrally, the adjustment member 50 is provided with an adjustment piece 54 which is disposed between the outer peripheral surface of a weight 32 and an inner peripheral surface 8 of a housing 4 and extends linearly in the axial direction, a circumferential one side edge 56 of the adjustment piece 54 is displaced in the circumferential direction according to the position of each of plural pieces of weights 32 disposed axially in series, and the circumferential position of the adjustment member 50 with respect to the rotating body 6 is adjusted, thereby changing the number of weights 32 of which the outer peripheral surface abuts on the inner peripheral surface of the adjustment piece 54 when the rotating body 6 rotates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
