To provide a marking device and a marking method which can eliminate a survey mistake and a read mistake of a design drawing, and shorten time required for marking.SOLUTION: A marking device 30 which executes marking by self-propulsion on a marking surface F includes a built-in control device 20. The built-in control device 20 includes a traveling unit 204, a position specifying unit 202 which specifies positional information of the device, a read unit 203 which reads marking source drawing data, and a drawing unit 205 which executes marking. The drawing unit 205 draws a panel point marking m1 according to a cross form at a panel point position where multiple members intersect each other on the basis of drawing rule information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
