To provide a rail soundness evaluation method capable of efficiently and quantitatively evaluating the soundness of a rail due to corrosion.SOLUTION: A rail soundness evaluation method for evaluating the soundness of a rail due to corrosion, comprises a step S1 of obtaining rail corrosion amount data associated with a rail position, a step S21 of estimating rail-induced stress associated with the rail position, a step S13 of identifying rail fatigue strength based on the corrosion amount data, and a step S3 of calculating rail soundness at the rail position based on the rail-induced stress and the rail fatigue strength.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
