To cut water easily and properly in a joint part between an attachment pipe joined to a drainage main pipe and a renewed pipe while preventing complication of installation work of the renewed pipe on the drainage main pipe.SOLUTION: An existing pipe renewal method includes: a renewed pipe installation step K1 in which a renewed pipe 3 is installed in a drainage main pipe 1 buried in the ground; a joint part specifying step K2 in which a joint part 23 of the renewed pipe 3 located below a joint position 22 between an attachment pipe 2 and the drainage main pipe 1 is specified; a water stop material supply step K3 in which a supply hose 61 is inserted into the attachment pipe 2 to supply a water stop material 60 for sealing a gap between the renewed pipe 3 located at the joint part 23 and the drainage main pipe 1; and an opening formation step K4 in which a drilling machine is placed into the renewed pipe 3 and drilling work of the renewed pipe 3 is performed based on specific information of the joint part 23 to form an opening 25 communicating with the attachment pipe 2 in the renewed pipe 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
