To provide a method of constructing a waterproof structure that enables mortar coating while easily waterproofing the outer wall of a building, and to provide a waterproof member that enables mortar coating while easily waterproofing the outer wall of a building.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of constructing a waterproof structure that waterproofs the joints formed on the outer wall of the building using a waterproof member. The waterproof member includes a waterproof member main body having a first sheet portion arranged along the outer wall surface of the outer wall and a second sheet portion continuously formed on the first sheet portion. The method of constructing a waterproof structure includes a step in which an adhesive tape in which a mortar adhesion layer and an adhesive layer are laminated is attached to at least a part of the first sheet portion of the waterproof member body to obtain a waterproof member in which the waterproof member body, the adhesive layer, and the mortar adhesion layer are laminated in this order, and a step in which the first sheet portion is placed along the outer wall surface and the waterproof member is placed in the joint portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
