To confirm easily and reliably that a movement area of a door or a predetermined area in the vicinity thereof are monitored by an electric detection protective device and that an operation is started and continued only when a safety function by the electric detection protective device operates correctly.SOLUTION: An automatic door comprises a door, a drive part, a controller, an activation sensor and a protection sensor. The controller confirms that no failures occur in a detention function of the protection sensor before starting a drive of the door in an operation mode, and starts the drive of the door when it is normal, stops the drive of the door when the failure occurs, and performs one of the protective operations of a stop or a reverse of the door, or a changeover to a low speed operation when the protection sensor fitted at a surface side in a traveling direction of the door detects an object in the vicinity of the door or an object in the vicinity of a hinge.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】扉の移動領域やその近傍の所定の領域が電気的検知保護装置によって監視されていること、及び電気的検知保護装置による安全機能が正しく働いているときに限り、運転を開始、継続していることを容易かつ確実に確認する。【解決手段】扉と、駆動部と、コントローラと、起動センサと、保護センサと、を有する自動ドアにおいて、前記コントローラは、前記運転モードにおいて、前記扉の駆動を開始する前に、前記保護センサの検出機能に異常がないことを確認し、正常の場合には前記扉の駆動を開始し、異常がある場合には前記扉の駆動を停止すると共に、前記扉の回動中に、前記扉の進行方向の面側に取付けられた前記保護センサが前記扉近傍の対象物又は前記ヒンジ部近傍の対象物を検出した場合、前記扉を停止、又は反転、又は低速動作への切換えのいずれかの保護動作を行なう。【選択図】図２
