COLUMNAR HONEYCOMB FIRED BODY PRODUCTION METHOD
To provide a columnar honeycomb fired body production method capable of contributing to yield improvement.SOLUTION: A production method has: a step A of producing a columnar honeycomb molded body; a step B of drying the columnar honeycomb molded body to obtain a columnar honeycomb dried body; a step C of calculating prescribed parameters (EAVE1, EAVE2, EAVE3 and EAVE4) based on the average value of a distance between the centroid positions O in prescribed plural angle ranges and an outer circumferential contour regarding a cross section vertical to a direction in which the cells of the columnar honeycomb dried body extend; a step D of identifying the minimum value in the parameters calculated in the step C; and a step E of mounting the columnar honeycomb dried body on a shelf board in such a manner that the direction in which the cells of the columnar honeycomb dried body extend is made parallel to a vertical direction and the part of a prescribed outer circumferential side face determined in accordance with the minimum value is located at a head and firing the same while being passed through the inside of a continuous firing furnace to obtain a columnar honeycomb fired body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
【課題】歩留まり向上に寄与する円柱状ハニカム焼成体の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】円柱状ハニカム成形体を作製する工程Ａと、円柱状ハニカム成形体を乾燥して、円柱状ハニカム乾燥体を得る工程Ｂと、円柱状ハニカム乾燥体のセルの延びる方向に垂直な断面について、所定の複数の角度範囲における重心位置Ｏと外周輪郭との距離の平均値から、所定のパラメータ（ＥAVE1、ＥAVE2、ＥAVE3、及びＥAVE4）を算出する工程Ｃと、工程Ｃで算出したパラメータのうち、最小値を特定する工程Ｄと、円柱状ハニカム乾燥体をセルの延びる方向が鉛直方向と平行になるように、且つ、前記最小値に応じて決定される所定の外周側面の箇所が先頭に位置するように円柱状ハニカム乾燥体を棚板に載置し、連続焼成炉内を通過させながら焼成して、円柱状ハニカム焼成体を得る工程Ｅと、を含む製造方法。【選択図】図９
