To minimize a structural complexity of an unbalance exciter for a soil compaction device.SOLUTION: An unbalance exciter for a soil compaction device comprises at least two rotatable unbalance masses (4) which are rotatably mounted in opposite directions relative to each other, and at least two rotors (1). Each of the unbalance masses (4) is coupled to one rotor of the rotors (1). The at least two unbalance masses (4) and the associated rotors (1) are mounted coaxially relative to each other. A stator (3) is associated with each of the rotors (1) in such a way that the rotor (1) and the associated stator (3) form an electric motor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
