To provide thermal spray material powder containing quartzite particles or quartz sand particles each mainly containing silica, inorganic porous particles, and metal particles composed mainly of metallic Si, having improved cladding capability, reducing rebound loss and an amount of dust to be generated during construction work, and suppressing reduction in adhesion strength to a construction object.SOLUTION: Provided is the thermal spray material powder for use in a thermal spray method of mixing an admixture containing quartzite particles or quartz sand particles and metal particles with oxygen to melt the admixture by the exothermic reaction of the metal particles to spray the molten admixture to a construction object. The thermal spraying material powder contains quartzite particles or quartz sand particles in an amount of 40 to 80 mass%, metal particles in an amount of 8 to 22 mass%, inorganic porous particles in an amount of 3 to 38 mass%, and particles containing magnesium oxide, with the quartzite particles or quartz sand particles containing silica in an amount of 90 mass% or more, the metal particles containing metallic Si in an amount of 90 mass% or more, and the porous particles having a bulk density of 0.5 to 1.5 measured according to JISR2205, containing silica in an amount of 50 to 85 mass%, containing alumina in an amount of 5 to 25 mass%, and containing one or more kinds of inorganic compounds selected from the group consisting of calcia, magnesia, iron oxide, sodium oxide and potassium oxide.SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】シリカを主として含有する硅石の粒子又は珪砂の粒子と、無機質の多孔質の粒子と、金属Siを主成分とする金属粒子とを含有し、肉盛性能を向上させた溶射材用粉末であり、リバウンドロスと施工時における粉塵の発生量とを小さくし、施工対象物に対する接着強度の低下を抑えた溶射材用粉末を提供する。【解決手段】珪石の粒子又は珪砂の粒子と金属粒子とを含有する混合物と、酸素とを混合し、金属粒子の酸化発熱反応により前記混合物を溶融させて施工対象物に吹き付ける溶射法に用いる溶射材用粉末であり、当該溶射材用粉末は、珪石の粒子又は珪砂の粒子40~80質量%と、金属粒子8~22質量%と、無機質の多孔質の粒子3~38質量%と、マグネシウムの酸化物を含む粒子とを含有し、前記珪石の粒子又は珪砂の粒子は、シリカを90質量%以上含有し、前記金属粒子は、金属Siを90質量%以上含むものであり、前記多孔質の粒子は、JISR2205に準拠して求めた嵩比重が0.5~1.5であり、シリカの含量が50~85質量%であり、アルミナの含量が5~25質量%であり、カルシア、マグネシア、酸化鉄、酸化ナトリウム、及び酸化カリウムからなる群より選ばれる1種以上の無機化合物を含有する溶射材用粉末である。【選択図】なし
