To provide a column fixing device which is simple and light in weight, firmly fixes a column by strongly pressing a ceiling pressing plate against a ceiling surface, and allows daily necessities to be easily mounted by handling the upright and fixed column and to provide an article fixture tool for handling the fixed column.SOLUTION: A lower-end part of a column 1 is housed in a column holding body 4 arranged on a floor surface 2, a box-shaped column mounting frame 10 of a ceiling pressing body 5 is mounted on an upper-end part of the column 1, a pantograph mechanism 12 having first and second links 15, 16 capable of elevating and lowering a ceiling pressing plate 11 is linked to the column mounting frame, the pantograph mechanism is provided with a jack screw 29 rotatable at a fixed position, the first and second links are provided so as to be able to rise and fall through the rotating operation of the jack screw, the ceiling pressing plate is provided so as to be able to press against the ceiling surface in conjunction with the rising displacement of the first and second links, a column fixing device is such that the column is fixed upright between the floor surface and the ceiling surface, and the ceiling pressing plate is formed larger than the cross-sectional area of the column mounting frame.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
