To provide a lightweight pipe joining attachment for a work machine, which is connected to an arm of the work machine and ensures the strength required for joining pipes.SOLUTION: A work machine 1000 has a connection part 11 connected to an arm 1003 of the work machine, a holding part 12 for holding a pipe W1, a joined pipe contact part 16 which is located in the axial direction L of an insertion port W1a of the pipe W1 held by the holding part 12 relative to the holding part 12 and which contacts an outer peripheral surface of the joined pipe W2 to be joined to the pipe W1, and an escape mechanism 17 which can move the joined pipe contact part 16 in a direction in which the load F decreases when the joined pipe contact part 16 contacts the joined pipe W2 with a load F greater than a predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
