To provide a shallow type grease interceptor that has a large allowable inflow flow rate and is easy to clean while taking advantage of its excellent workability and renewability.SOLUTION: A basket is accommodated in a storage box having upstream and downstream side portions, left and right side portions, and a bottom portion, and the space within the storage box is used as a wastewater inlet chamber. A flow port for discharging wastewater is provided on a bottom of at least one or both of the upstream side portion of the storage box or the left and right side portions of the storage box. Furthermore, this storage box serves as a first partition wall that separates the wastewater inlet chamber from the separation chamber; and dam panels, which extend vertically from the bottom wall and have a height equal to or less than half the standard water level, are provided within the separation chamber at least between the left and right side walls of a storage tank body and the left and right side portions of the storage box so as to run perpendicular to the flow of wastewater, and are not located in the center of the storage tank body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
