To provide a sedative manufacturing apparatus that can add water to papermaking sludge in which an amount of the water corresponds to reduction of a water content of the papermaking sludge caused by frictional heat accompanying kneading, compression and transfer in a barrel, so as to execute, preferably, molding and solidification of the papermaking sludge.SOLUTION: There is provided a sedative manufacturing apparatus, in which a sedative G is composed of a molded and solidified material PF of papermaking sludge P. The sedative manufacturing apparatus comprises: two screw shafts 2, 2 rotatably arranged in parallel in a barrel 1 into which the papermaking sludge is charged; screw blades engaged with each other and provided on the respective screw shafts; a rotary driving mechanism K for forcibly kneading, compressing and transferring the papermaking sludge in a meshing space of the respective screw blades with the two screw shafts being rotatingly driven inward in different directions; a die plate 3 having nozzle holes 3a, 3a for discharging the molded and solidified material of the papermaking being sludge kneaded, compressed and transferred in the barrel; and water content adjusting means 4 for adjusting a water content of the papermaking sludge being kneaded, compressed and transferred in the barrel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
