TANTALUM POWDER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
The present invention relates to tantalum powder and a method for preparing the same. The method for preparing tantalum powder according to the present invention comprises the steps of: mixing tantalum oxide powder, a carbonaceous reducing agent and a solvent to obtain a mixed solution; subjecting the mixed solution to a reaction through which the carbonaceous reducing agent is converted into porous activated carbon positioned on the surface of the tantalum oxide powder; a first reduction step in which the tantalum oxide powder having the porous activated carbon positioned on the surface thereof is heat treated under vacuum atmosphere to carry out carbon reduction of the tantalum oxide powder; and a second reduction step in which a mixture of the carbon reduced tantalum oxide powder with magnesium powder is heat treated under vacuum or inert gas atmosphere to carry out further reduction of the carbon reduced tantalum oxide powder. The method also provides tantalum powder obtained by the method.
