Disclosed is a hood latch for a vehicle capable of reducing a number of components required, and improving an assembling process. According to one aspect of the present invention, the hood latch for the vehicle comprises: a base plate which has an access groove into which a striker is inserted; a catch lever fastened to the base plate to rotate around a first rotating shaft having a locking groove to which the striker is fastened; a first recovery unit to provide a recovery force to the catch lever; a pole lever fastened to the base plate to rotate around a second rotating shaft, and fastened to the catch lever to lock a rotation of the catch lever; a second recovery unit to provide a recovery force to the pole lever; a safety hook fastened to the base plate to rotate around a third rotating shaft having a catching groove disposed on an upper end of the access groove to restrict release of the striker; a safety lever to receive a rotational force to rotate the safety hook; and a third recovery unit to provide a recovery force to the safety hook. The third recovery unit includes an elastic piece which has a predetermined thickness; extends from the safety hook; and has an end formed as a free end. The base plate includes a support piece to correspond to the elastic piece.
