The present invention relates to a gypsum board composition for producing gypsum boards, one of building materials. The gypsum board composition of the present invention comprises: gypsum; a hardener; a hardening retarder; and a metal ion sequestering agent. An objective of the present invention is to provide a gypsum board composition which is excellent in durability, hardness and the like, is environmentally friendly, and is capable of producing eco-friendly gypsum boards which are harmless to the human body.
