    The present invention provides a fireproof article, which contains a refractory body, and a refractory coating layer covering the surface of the refractory body, wherein the refractory coating layer contains silica, alumina, boron oxide, and calcium oxide. The refractory article may be at least one of a melting vessel, a purifying vessel and a molding apparatus. A composition for refractory coating and a method for manufacturing the refractory articles are also disclosed.
