METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A HOLE JEWEL
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a hole jewel for forming a bearing. The method comprises the steps of: forming a precursor from a mixture of at least one powder material with a binder; pressing the precursor with an upper die and a lower die having a punch to form a green body of the future hole jewel, wherein the green body includes a blind cavity having a height between a height of the green body and a height of the future hole jewel, and the cavity is provided with upper and lower portions respectively including blanks of a through hole and of a functional element of the future hole jewel; sintering the green body so as to form a body of the future hole jewel from one or more materials; and machining the body of the future hole jewel. The machining step comprises: a first sub-step of shaping a top of the body such that, in preparation for an opening made in the through hole blank for allowing the connection of the functional element to the upper surface, the height of the upper portion is formed; and a second sub-step of shaping an intended base of the body so as to form a lower surface of the hole jewel for allowing the connection of the functional element to the lower surface.

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a hole jewel for forming a bearing.
