Disclosed is a clamp-type support column for a scaffold capable of improving the stability of a scaffold removal operation. According to an aspect of the present invention, the clamp-type support column for a scaffold comprises: a clamp unit; and a support unit coupled to a lower portion of the clamp unit to support a horizontal bar on which a scaffold plate is seated. The clamp unit includes: a frame having a fixed jaw; an adjustment screw which is screwed to the frame and moves downward toward the fixed jaw during forward rotation; a first spring providing an elastic force for reversely rotating the adjusting screw; and a ratchet which allows forward rotation of the adjustment screw but prevents reverse rotation. The ratchet includes: a detent rotatably coupled to the frame; and a cogwheel formed on the adjustment screw and engaged with the detent.
