A BCTZ-based lead-free piezoelectric ceramic composition providing high piezoelectric properties and speaker characteristics and a method for manufacturing the BCTZ-based lead-free piezoelectric ceramic are disclosed. The disclosed method for manufacturing a lead-free piezoelectric ceramic includes the steps of: manufacturing a mixture in which copper oxide is added to a BCTZ-based parent material; and sintering the mixture at a temperature of 1300 degrees (℃) to 1600 degrees (℃) for 1 hour to 5 hours. The weight ratio of the copper oxide in the mixture is 0.6wt%.
