FIELD: ship building.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding and concerns the issue related to the maintenance of normal operating conditions for ice-resistant hydraulic structures, including ice-resistant platforms at the site of offshore mining of mineral resources in Arctic conditions. A method for destroying packs of ice blocks near ice-resistant offshore oil and gas and hydraulic structures is proposed, according to which the destruction of pack ice is carried out by raking ice blocks from its surface with an excavator type device installed on an icebreaking vessel and dropping them into the water around the ship. An icebreaker vessel is also proposed to destroy packs of ice blocks near ice-resistant offshore oil and gas and hydraulic structures.EFFECT: technical result consists in improving the safety of operations of the icebreaking vessel and the platform, reducing energy costs and time for destruction of packs of ice blocks of a high hummocky barrier around ice-resistant offshore oil and gas and hydraulic structures to allow the supply vessel to approach them.3 cl, 2 dwg
