An analytical toilet comprising a bowl for receiving excreta wherein at least a portion of the bowl comprises a transparent material; a urine receptacle; at least one urine sensor positioned to inspect the urine through the transparent bowl material; and a processor receiving data from the at least one sensor and determining at least one property of the urine is also disclosed.
