An excavator managing device comprises a communication device, a memory device, and a processing device. The processing device receives excavator machine identification information and operating information indicating the operational status of the excavator from the excavator via the communication device. Furthermore, excavator machine identification information and excavator failure category information are received from a support device via the communication device. Then, the failure category information and the operating information are associated and stored in the memory device. By virtue of the excavator management device having this configuration, prior repair experience can be easily applied to future repair operations.
