Provided is a vehicle door glass lifting device 100 that can reliably detect a foreign object trapped near the fully closed position of a door glass. The vehicle door glass lifting device 100 comprises a window regulator 2 that lifts and lowers a door glass 10 with respect to a door sash 11 of a vehicle door 1, a contact sensor 3 that is disposed on the upper end face 10a of the door glass 10 and that extends along in the longitudinal direction of the upper end face 10a of the door glass 10, and a control device 4 that controls the window regulator 2. The control device 4 determines whether a contacted object is a foreign object such as a finger F on the basis of the contact state detected by the contact sensor 3, and lowers the door glass 10 when the contacted object is determined to be a foreign object.
