VIBRATION DAMPING DEVICE FOR STRUCTURE
A vibration damping device (1) for a structure comprises: a hollow circular cylinder member (3) having a circular cylindrical inner peripheral surface (2); a solid circular cylindrical long member (6) disposed within the hollow circular cylinder member (3) so as to be movable in the X-direction relative to the hollow circular cylinder member (3) and having a circular cylindrical outer peripheral surface (5); and a hollow circular cylindrical elastic body (10) which is affixed at the circular cylindrical outer peripheral surface (8) thereof to the inner peripheral surface (2) of the hollow circular cylinder member (3), is affixed at the circular cylindrical inner peripheral surface (9) thereof to the circular cylindrical outer peripheral surface (5) of the long member (6), and is disposed between the inner peripheral surface (2) of the hollow circular cylinder member (3) and the outer peripheral surface (5) of the long member (6).
