A compensator device includes a hydraulic cylinder (30) with a first end (33), a second end (34) and an inner cylinder rod (35) extending axially from the second end; and a piston rod (36) with a piston (38) movable axially within the cylinder. The inner cylinder rod has an end with a blocking diameter (Ab). The piston rod is generally hollow and includes a cavity (37) to receive the blocking diameter of the inner cylinder rod.
