Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a merchandise security device, system, and method for displaying an item of merchandise and protecting the merchandise from theft. A merchandise security system includes a merchandise security key having Near Field Communication (NFC) functionality for communicating with a merchandise security device having NFC functionality. Based on information obtained from the merchandise security device, the merchandise security key is configured to transfer electrical power to operate a passive electronic lock and/or an Infrared (IR) transceiver of the merchandise security device.
Des modes de réalisation de la présente invention concernent un dispositif, un système et un procédé de sécurité de marchandise destinés à afficher un article de marchandise et à protéger la marchandise contre le vol. Un système de sécurité de marchandise comprend une clé de sécurité de marchandise qui possède une fonctionnalité de communication en champ proche (NFC) pour communiquer avec un dispositif de sécurité de marchandise possédant une fonctionnalité NFC. En se basant sur des informations obtenues auprès du dispositif de sécurité de marchandise, la clé de sécurité de marchandise est configurée pour transférer de l'énergie électrique servant à faire fonctionner un verrou électronique passif et/ou un émetteur-récepteur d'infrarouges (IR) du dispositif de sécurité de marchandise.
