A device 100 for opening/closing a window pane in a vehicle has: a pinion 23 serving as an input rotation member into which the rotation force of an electric motor 21 is input; a drum 22 serving as an output rotation member that receives the rotation force of the pinion 23 and provides an output to a raising/lowering mechanism 3; and a connection/disconnection mechanism 5 capable of switching between a disconnection state and a connection state in which transmission of power between the pinion 23 and the drum 22 is connected. A control unit 4 has an abnormality sensing means 41 for sensing an abnormality in the vehicle state, a moving means 43 for automatically moving a window pane 9 by a predetermined distance when the abnormality sensing means 41 senses an abnormality in the vehicle, and a disconnection implementation means 44 for actuating the connection/disconnection mechanism 5 and producing a disconnection state after the moving means 43 has been implemented.
